"What Blogger Should Do"

Evan Williams (evhead) has done a nice job at outlining what myself and many others have been pondering - are sites like digg, flickr, Twitter and friendfeed signaling the "death of blogging"?

I for one have been using some of these tools to share links and blurt out thoughts, and have been "neglecting" this poor little blog. Because of this, I'm planning some changes to my own format that will likely use friendfeed to pull in more of my activity on digg, twitter, flickr and the like. Full blog articles will become secondary and less frequent.

That said, you should read this full article. It suggests some interesting ideas that may help blogging platforms stay relevant.

Feedburner Comes to Blogger: Google Analytics Next?

mashable.com: "It was inevitable really: Feedburner’s new owner Google has gone ahead and integrated the feed tracking service into its Blogspot/Blogger.com blog platform, enabling one click redirection of Blogger feeds to Feedburner.

In other words: if you want detailed stats on who is reading your Blogger blog, it’s now easy to do. The integration also works with blogger blogs not hosted on the Blogspot domain. Feedburner’s instructions: “log into your Blogger account, select Settings | Site Feed, enter your FeedBurner feed address and click “Save Settings.”"

Blogger Beta: Feature Complete!

Blogger Buzz: "This morning's push marks a huge milestone for the version of Blogger in Beta - it's finally feature complete! ...you can now publish blogs via S/FTP, a feature formerly available on the older version of Blogger. Beta's FTP functionality is significantly enhanced however - it includes Label support!

Most importantly, the addition of FTP to the beta means that account migration will soon (like Really Really Soon) be available to all Blogger users -- it's currently just enabled for blogspot users. Thank you all for your patience with the recent outages and networking problems - they'll soon be a thing of the past!"

This could not come soon enough.
